RiboGrip™ RNase Inhibitor is an in silico-designed protein-based ribonuclease inhibitor, which inactivates RNase A.

RiboGrip™ inhibits the activity of ribonuclease A by noncovalently binding in a non-competitive mode at a ratio of 1:1. This novel inhibitor is active over a broad range of reaction temperatures from 37°C to 50°C and has enhanced stability at room temperature with no loss of activity for up to 1 month.


Preventing RNA degradation in the following applications:

  • First-strand cDNA synthesis
  • RT-PCR
  • RT-qPCR
  • in vitro transcription and translation


Concentration: 40 U/µl

Source: Purified from an E.coli strain that carries an overproducing plasmid containing a RiboGrip™ RNase Inhibitor gene.

Storage and dilution buffer: 50% glycerol (v/v), 20 mM Tris-HCl pH 7.5, 100 mM KCl, 0.1 mM EDTA, 10 mM DTT and stabilizers.

Recommendations for use: RiboGrip RNase Inhibitor™ is used generally at a final reaction concentration of 1 U/μl. Inactivated by heating at 85°C for 5 min.

Does RiboGrip help with inhibitor resistance?

RiboGrip™ is not directly associated with tolerance to common inhibitors, however, it helps to keep RNA intact because RiboGrip inhibits Rnase H.

Enzymes are usually very viscous liquids. What would you recommend for the most accurate pipetting?

Pipetting viscous liquids like glycerol with an air displacement micropipette is difficult, because viscous liquids have a high resistance to flow. We have a few recommendations for accurate pipetting:

  • Hold the pipette vertical, since more liquid gets picked up into the tip when the pipette is held at an angle.
  • Only put the pipette tip in the liquid.
  • Use a very slow aspiration speed, wait for a few seconds until the liquid retightens and then use a very slow dispensing speed.
What are the storage conditions and stability of Solis BioDyne reagents?

Solis BioDyne products should be stored at -20°C.

Shipping and temporary storage for up to 1 month at room temperature (*1525°C) has no detrimental effects on the quality of Solis BioDyne reagents.

Freeze-thaw stability is tested for each product. Most PCR and qPCR products have passed 30 freeze-thaw cycles with no changes in performance. Specific information is found in Storage and Shipping conditions of each product.

When stored and handled under the recommended conditions, full activity of the reagents is retained until the Expiry Date printed on the tube label.
